Quality Lebanese cuisine is fresh, healthy, unique and authentic. It is known as the gourmet cuisine of the Middle East, and for good reason.

At Le Cèdre, we strive to do this reputation justice, even though we’re far from home. We use only the freshest ingredients in our kitchen and on the plate. The chef selects them himself every morning at the market and personally ensures that high standards of quality are maintained.

History in
the making
since 1996.




At age 27, Maurice made his way to Switzerland. His journey took him from Geneva to Bäretswil, where he began earning a living in the catering industry.
Yet, his dream of running his own restaurant never left him – so he packed up again and moved to the city of Zurich.

He opened the first Lebanese restaurant in Zurich at a time when hommos and tahini were still foreign expressions for most visitors.

With its signature dishes, Le Cèdre Restaurant quickly embodied the multicolored facets of Lebanon, and it has been doing so for  27 years.

The bedouin tents (private areas for 12 to 18 people) are perfect for special occasions, such as wedding rehearsal dinners, birthday parties and Christmas dinners. Furnished with cosy sofas and comfy pillows, the surroundings are inspired by the traditional tents of nomadic desert people.
